Many people ask for their imperfections to be edited out of their photo but for me, what you may consider to be your imperfection is the thing that makes you unique. Scars, beauty marks and similar should be embraced!

In 2016, I suffered from PTSD and Anxiety, at the time I was ashamed of it but over the years, I’ve become proud of the scars on my wrists and the memories in my mind. I know first hand how scary and embarrassment it can feel to step in front of a camera with scars, no matter what the cause of them but I can assure you, it’s actually embracing, empowering and really boosts your confidence when you see the final outcome.

No matter what your background, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation or anything else you can think of, you are always welcome.

I look forward to working with you and making memories that’ll last a life time.

About Shaun

Hi, I’m Shaun Ashford, a professional photographer and photojournalist based in Cardiff, South Wales. I’m a very proud father of 6, my youngest being Katelyn, aged just 4 years.

My photography life began in 2012 after I became involved in Urban Exploration. This involves entering abandoned buildings to document decay and in my case this has been done through photography. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph hundreds of abandoned buildings across the UK with many featuring within National and International media outlets.

Between 2012-2017, I spent my time photographing buildings, landscapes and cityscapes before eventually making the jump into editorial photography. In 2017, I became an accredited member of the UK press as a photojournalist providing breaking news content to the local and national media. In 2022, I additionally became an accredited member of the International Press to cover conflict overseas.

For the past few years, I have slowly been offering my photographic services to the public, with the main service being portrait and product photography. In 2023 though, I’ve made the decision to launch as a full-time photographer and photojournalist offering a wide range of services.

A photograph for me is about telling a story and capturing a moment in time. I believe that photography should be accessible to everyone and from all walks of life.

I operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can shoot outdoors, within your home or business premises and of course within one of my remote studios which are located across South Wales and South West England.

Over the years, while my photography style has changed, my goals haven’t and that’s to provide the best possible photography service to everybody, regardless of budget.
